Relay For Life This Weekend at the Fairgrounds-Body

Relay For Life® is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer and empower individuals to fight back against this disease. During the event, teams of people gather at schools, fairgrounds, or parks and take turns walking or running laps. Each team keeps at least one team member on the track at all times.

Forsyth County is proud to host its annual Relay for Life in Cumming, which will be held at the City of Cumming Fairgrounds beginning at 6:00 p.m. Friday evening, May 12th, and culminates at 7:00 a.m. Saturday morning, May 13th.

Cancer survivors will kick off the event with a 'survivors lap,' and then the Relay will continue with teams of 10-15 people walking or running until Saturday morning. The cost is $10 per person, and each team should consist of at least 10 members.

Some of the teams participating in the 2006 Relay For Life include Coal Mountain Baptist Church, Team VCMS, Team Kennedy, Hansgrohe Water Warriors and Forsyth County Employees.
