The Forsyth County Chapter of Ducks Unlimited will hold its annual dinner banquet on Wednesday October 25, 2006 at the Lakewood 400 Antique Mall, and Ferguson’s Meat Market will cater the event...
Founded in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has maintained a singleness of purpose for more than 60 years that has guided the organization to become the leading waterfowl and wetlands conservation entity in North America. Ducks Unlimited conserves, restores and manages wetlands and associated habitats for North America's waterfowl in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Waterfowl are not the only beneficiaries of DU’s habitat work. Wetlands improve the overall health of our environment by recharging and purifying groundwater, moderating floods and reducing soil erosion. Wetlands are nature’s most productive ecosystems, providing critical habitat to more than 900 wildlife species and invaluable recreation opportunities for people to enjoy. As of January, 2006 Ducks Unlimited has conserved over 11 million acres in North America.
