2004 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk Steps off Tuesday, September 14

WHAT: Sign your company team up today for the 2004 Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program. Designed to inspire fun, fitness and healthy competition among Atlanta’s business community, the event is now the largest corporate organized fitness program in the world. More than 20,000 walkers, joggers and competitive runners from over 4,500 Atlanta companies participate in the annual 5K Run/Walk, company picnics and training program. New events being introduced in 2004 include: the Michelob Ultra Post-Run Office Party and Office Depot Business Expo and Photo Center.

WHEN: Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at 7 p.m.

WHERE: Downtown Atlanta, adjacent to Turner Field

WHY: To inspire fun, fitness and camaraderie among Atlanta business community. A portion of proceeds benefits Atlanta Braves Foundation and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta.

BACKGROUND: Now in its’ 22nd year, the annual Kaiser Permanente Corporate Run/Walk & Fitness Program is a unique workplace organized fitness program and is open to joggers, walkers and competitive runners regardless of their level of fitness. Unique aspects of the program include a July – September multi-faceted “Get-in-Shape” fitness program designed by founder, Race Director and U.S. Olympian, Jeff Galloway. Virtual training program and a free 8-week membership at CRUNCH and Bally’s Health Clubs begins July 20. The event culminates with a 5K (3.1 mile) Run/Walk through downtown Atlanta on Tuesday, September 14. Immediately following the 5K run/walk are hundreds of company-sponsored picnics – also known as the “World’s Largest Office Party”. New events this year include the: Michelob Ultra Post-Run Office Party and the Office Depot Business Expo.
