Jess Mullens scored 14 points and pulled down 12 rebounds to record his third double-double of the season and lead the Vikings to a 65-59 win over Brewton-Parker. The win snapped a four-game losing streak for the Vikings. Berry improves to 5-10 this season and evens its conference record at 3-3. Brewton-Parker falls to 5-12 this year and is 1-5 against Southern States Athletic Conference opponents.

After Berry opened the game with an 11-5 run to start the game.  the Barons responded by going on an 11-3 run to take a 16-14 lead. However, Berry responded by outscoring the Barons by 13 from that point to take a 35-24 lead into the half.  Mullens led the team to the lead at the intermission scoring 11 of his 14 points and nabbing five rebounds in the first half alone.

Mullens led all players in rebounding  as the Berry team out-rebounded its opponents 50-40, including a 17-10 edge on the offensive glass. In addition to rebounding, which allowed the Vikings to earn a 13-8 edge in second-chance points, the Berry defense also limited Brewton-Parker to just 37.7% shooting for the night. The Vikings kept the Barons from coming back in the game by preventing them from making the three-point shot. The visitors shot just 2-of-21 (9.5%) from behind the arc in the game.

The Barons fought back in the second half, cutting the Berry lead to  five points at 51-46 on a three by Warren Beaulah. Beaulah led all scorers with 25 points in the game. However, the Vikings answered with a pair of free throws by Chris Clark to reestablish the lead. Clark scored 13 points in the game and was one of four Berry players to score in double-digits. Clark was 3-of-4 from the line and was the most accurate free throw shooter for the Vikings who struggled at the line. For the game Berry went 15-for-35 (42.9%) from the charity stripe.

Berry's leading scorer for the season Tramaine Aaron equaled Mullens with 14 points and played a complete game with eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Stephen Hunter also scored 12 points in the game and pulled down five rebounds.

The Vikings assumed the fifth-place spot in the conference with the win, after local rival Shorter fell by two points against Emmanuel.
