The biggest name in baseball - Jason Varitek - is coming to North Gwinnett High School to tell his story and inspire men and youth to be the best they can be. As you know, Jason is credited with breaking "the curse" for the Boston Red Sox and leading them to victory in the 2004 World Series. He is the Captain and catcher for the Boston Red Sox and he resides in the North Gwinnett area during the off-season. Varitek is a former Georgia Tech player and was named one of the Georgia Tech's 50 greatest athletes of the 20th Century!

You are invited to participate in this event on Thursday, February 3, 2005 at 6:30 pm. It's a Sportsman's Dinner for men and youth (ages 7 and up) sponsored by Big Sky Church at North Gwinnett High School. Dinner will be provided by Sonny's Real Pit BBQ and hundreds of sports and recreational equipment prizes will be given away. You'll have a chance to meet Jason Varitek in person. The regular cost for tickets is $10 at the door, $8.00 in advance, but any student athlete wearing their team's jersey will be admitted for $5.
