In Support Of The Local GOP's Recent Letter

I always find it interesting when discussing politics how easily emotion can supersede reason. When I read the letter issued by the local GOP’s eight-member executive committee, I admit the tone grabbed my attention.

However, it was the content that grabbed me even more. I did not read anything in the letter that was not true.

It seems that in Forsyth County, "we the people" have a tendency to "Elect ‘em and forget ‘em." especially when we believe we elect Republicans.

There is a groundswell in this community of parents and taxpayers who have been made painfully aware that there is more to getting the government we deserve than showing up at the polls on election day.

Parents and taxpayers are demanding satisfaction and they are demanding to be heard. I say kudos to the local GOP for what will hopefully prove to be a wake-up call to those who ran as Republicans that they should serve as Republicans as well as listen to their constituency.

Let this also serve as a wake up call to the disappointed citizens of Forsyth County. To quote Teddy Roosevelt, "The government is us; we are the government, you and I."
