Construction has begun for the main office of Rome’s new community bank, RiverCity Bank.

Once approved by the FDIC and state banking department, the bank intends to open a trust and investment department.

Roger Goss, Floyd County native with 35 years experience in trust and investing services will head the department.

The bank will operate from a temporary facility until the main branch is completed.

The construction is expected to take about 12 months.
