Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce’s former Economic Development Director, Kevin Scott Morris, 34 has been arrested and charged with 20 counts of possessing child pornography.
The charges stem from 2004 while Morris served as Executive Director of a Virginia Industrial Development Authority. The sexually explicit material involved children under the age of 18 and was discovered in 2005 on a laptop owned by IDA. The computer was then sent for forensic evaluation.
Morris left Industrial Development Authority in June 2004 and was serving as Vice President of Economic Development for the Gwinett Chamber of Commerce at the time of his arrest.
G.M. Reed, chief of the South Boston Police Department in Virginia says he plans to extradite Morris to Virginia where the charges originated.
