'Twelve Days of Giving' Begins December 19th

Published Dec 19, 2005
(Updated Dec 26, 2006)

The American Red Cross encourages everyone to take a break from the holiday rush this season to give life, the most precious gift of all! Approximately 1200 units of blood are needed by patients in area hospitals every day. Only donations from generous blood and platelet donors can prevent a severe holiday shortage.

Individuals who come to donate blood and platelets with the Red Cross during the 12 Days of Giving (Dec 19-31) can help ensure an adequate blood supply while also being treated to winter fun, T-shirts and more.
