On Friday, December 23, 2005 Forsyth County Fire Department personnel responded to the very first call from new Fire Station # 5, which officially opened its doors at 10:30 that morning.
Located at 2720 Holtzclaw Road, Forsyth County’s newest fire station is a welcome addition to the department’s existing facilities.
The former Fire Station # 5 was an all volunteer station; the new station will have 24-hour coverage by full-time firefighters.
"New Fire Station # 5 will serve as an important part of the fire services in Forsyth County," said Fire Chief Danny Bowman. "We are pleased to open this new, full-time staffed facility for this service district."
Fire Station # 5 is a two bay station housing Engine 5 and Brush Truck 5. It is also home to the Forsyth County Fire Department Wildland Division.
