Huge Community Response to Child Advocacy Center's Needs 'Amazing'

In May of this year the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center's vacuum bit the dust. In desperate need of a new vacuum, but very low on funds, the Center placed collection jars in Sal's Place restaurant and at the Lakeland Plaza and Bethelview Blockbuster Stores, hoping the local community would step in and help them purchase a new vacuum.

The response to this need was overwhelming. At the end of June, just prior to the collection of the donation jars, Oliver Alexander, a local businessman, called the Center and offered to purchase a new vacuum himself as a gift for the Center. The jars were collected and to everyone's amazement, nearly $92.00 had been given by County residents. Because of this outpouring of goodwill, "A Friend's House," (the FCCAC's nickname), not only has a beautiful brand new vacuum, but additional funds to purchase further cleaning materials.

"Fantastic response...we just love it when the community embraces us like this!" stated Pat Plant, Victim Advocacte for FCCAC.
