A new television ad started airing on Thursday, May 18, discussing Governor Sonny Perdue’s efforts to improve our children’s education and restore respect for our teachers.
Governor Perdue strengthened discipline in the classroom by allowing school districts to take away the driver’s license of any child that exhibits a consistent disciplinary problem, and he has lowered class sizes to increase the time a teacher can spend with a student and help the teacher control the classroom.
The Governor is taking a common-sense approach to improving education. To combat the high dropout rates in Georgia, Governor Perdue is placing a Completion Counselor in every high school in the state to work with the students to help them graduate. Since our children deserve the best teachers, Governor Perdue is committed to ensuring our teachers remain the best and the highest paid teachers in the southeast.
