Rome Floyd Festivals Council proudly presents 2007 Saturday Cinema at the DeSoto Theater – A movie series to raise funds for the historic DeSoto Theater Restoration Project.
Saturday, March 10 don’t miss Gone With TheWind at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. This film is often considered to be the most beloved, enduring and one of the most popular films of all time. Sidney Howard’s script was derived from Margaret Mitchell’s first and only published best selling Civil War and Reconstruction Period novel. The famous film, shot in three strip Technicolor, is cinema’s greatest, star-studded, historical epic film of the old South during wartime and boasts an immortal cast in a timeless, classic tale of a love-hate romance.
Tickets are $2 and all proceeds benefit the restoration of the historic Desoto Theater, 530 Broad Street located in downtown Rome.
