Mr. Eric Ashton, currently Assistant Principal, Vickery Creek Middle School, was appointed to be Principal, Sawnee Primary School, for the 2006-07 school year. Mr. Ashton has a Bachelor’s degree from SUNY College at Brockport and a Master’s degree from Nazareth College of Rochester. He was an elementary teacher in Fulton County for 4 years before coming to Forsyth County in 2001 as Assistant Principal at Chattahoochee Elementary School. He also served as Assistant Principal at Daves Creek Elementary before being appointed to his current position in 2004. In addition, he has served as Assistant Director and Director of Middle and High School Summer School, 2003 - 2005.
Ms. Kathie Braswell, currently Assistant Principal, Mashburn Elementary School, was appointed to be Principal, Mashburn Elementary School, for the 2006-07 school year. Ms. Braswell has a Bachelor’s degree from Clarion State University and a Master’s degree from Oglethorpe University. She was a middle school teacher for 4 years in New York and Georgia before coming to Forsyth County in 1987 as a fifth grade teacher at Big Creek Elementary School. She taught the following year in Fulton County before returning to Big Creek in 1989 where she was a classroom teacher until 2000. She was the Quality Work Assistant at Big Creek from 2000 until she was appointed to her current position in 2002.
Ms. Donna Morris, currently Assistant Principal, Settles Bridge Elementary School, was appointed to be Principal, Settles Bridge Elementary School, for the 2006-07 school year. Ms. Morris has a Bachelor’s degree from North Georgia College, a Master’s degree from Georgia State University, and a Specialist’s degree from the University of Georgia. She was an elementary teacher and instructional lead teacher in Barrow County and DeKalb County for 15 years. She then served as Assistant Principal at Kingsley Charter School in DeKalb County for 7 years before being appointed to her current position in Forsyth County in 2004.
