Sawnee Elementary School held their annual Optimist Oratorical Contest on Tuesday, February 14, to determine finalists for the county-wide competition to be held March 7 at the School Administration Building. The students spoke on the topic “My Future Is Bright Because . . .”
First place winners were Mason Waters and Micaela Atkins (center). First runners-up were Jay Helvey and Crystal Schreck (far left and right). Judges Charlotte Stalder, Tom Connor, and Nora Wilson are pictured in the back row. Serving as Coordinator for the school’s competition was Jane Grebe (not pictured).
The competition is sponsored by the Forsyth-Cumming Optimist, the Sawnee-Cumming Optimist and Johns Creek Optimist Clubs.
