The fourth annual Rome International Film Festival (RIFF) is now accepting entries for the 2007 event scheduled for September 6-9, 2007 in Rome, Georgia.

For film submissions visit http://www.withoutabox.com/login/3360 or visit the RIFF website at http://www.riff.tv/.  RIFF screens animated, experimental, documentary, and narrative films both short and feature length.  The deadline for entries is June 1, 2007.  All entries should be shipped to Rome International Film Festival (RIFF), c/o Rome Area Council for the Arts, 248 Broad Street, Rome, Georgia  30161.  Entry fees vary according to genre and length.  Filmmakers should consult http://www.withoutabox.com/login/3360 or http://www.fiff.tv/ for more details.

The 2006 Rome International Film Festival featured 140 films by filmmakers from 35 counties including 12 films by filmmakers from metro Atlanta and throughout Georgia.  The audience for the 2006 festival was approximately 8800 people.

Ten competition awards were presented at the 2006 RIFF:  Best Animated Short, Best Experimental Film, Best International Short, Best International Documentary, Best American Documentary, Best Narrative Feature, and Best Director as well as audience awards for Best Short and Best Feature.

In its fourth year, the RIFF is a walking film festival in historic downtown Rome, Georgia located 60 miles northwest of Atlanta.  The festival is situated among the quaint Victorian architecture of Rome’s Broad Street which features dozens of restaurants, bars, shops, and galleries.  Festival venues include The DeSoto Theatre, an art deco theatre built in 1929 as the first ‘talkie’ theatre in the South; the Forum, a civic center with three screening rooms; and the Rome City Auditorium built in 1916.

In addition to screenings, special events include the Opening Night Gala, the Director’s Party, the Film Industry Party, educational workshops, and special events for networking.  In addition, the 2007 RIFF will be the first to feature a film market.
