The Board of Education is considering holding a Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) referendum to fund capital improvements sometime in the fall of 2006. Forsyth County voters approved a SPLOST in 1997 and another in 2001. The current SPLOST II will expire in June 2007.
Please visit the Forsyth County School System web site to review a PowerPoint presentation of the proposal, as well as a video presentation and a feedback form. Forsyth County citizens can also leave feedback on a 24-hour voice mailbox by calling (770) 887-2461, x2500. The Board of Education will discuss this SPLOST proposal at their meeting on May 18, 2006.
