Southern Outdoor Cinema returns once more to Dawsonville for an end-of-the-summer screening of the family movie Dreamer at Rock Creek Sports Complex on September 9.
Throughout the summer, Southern Outdoor Cinema has brought free outdoor movies to north Georgia communities as part of its "Movies in the Park"
series. For Dawson County’s last event, families and neighbors can watch Kurt Russell and Dakota Fanning nurse a badly-injured race horse back to health as they repair their own father-daughter relationship.
Pre-movie activities will begin at 6:30 p.m. Abrakadoodle will provide free children’s arts and crafts activities, and NoJoe’s Clown Circus will entertain the kids. NoJoe performs for free, but will accept donations for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Dreamer will begin at dusk.
"Thank you to all of the people in Dawson County who have helped make "Movies in the Park" a success this year," says Southern Outdoor Cinema owner, Paul Murray. "I hope everyone will come out for one more night of fun and enjoy Dreamer with your friends and family."
"We are hoping to make Movies in the Park a summertime tradition," say Murray. Southern Outdoor Cinema is currently looking for sponsors for the
2007 Movies in the Park season.
"Movies in the Park" are free to the public, thanks to the following local
sponsors: Southern Outdoor Cinema, Dawson News and Advertiser, Dawson County Parks and Recreation, Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Country Boy Trailers, Northside Hospital-Forsyth, Taylor Construction and Abrakadoodle. No alcohol or glass containers are allowed in the park.
Please bring your lawn chair or blanket and enjoy concessions at the park.
