Rome Little Theatre's production of On Golden Pond opens Friday, January 26th at 8:00 p.m. at the Historic DeSoto Theater in downtown Rome. On Golden Pond tells the story of Norman and Ethel Thayer, an aging couple spending their forty-eighth summer together on the shores of Golden Pond in Maine. When their estranged daughter returns to renew her relationship -- and to persuade them to keep her fiancé’s thirteen year old son for the summer -- Norman and Ethel are confronted with unexpected changes. Norman's charming humor and Ethel's caring warmth are tested as Norman's health, and spirits, decline.
Audiences young and old will enjoy Rome Little Theatre's renewal of this timeless story, and the rebirth of these warm, memorable characters. On Golden Pond will be presented Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, from January 26th through February 4th. Performances start at 8:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, with a 2:30 p.m. matinee on Sundays. For tickets, group reservations or more information, please call the Rome Little Theatre at 706/295-7171, or check on-line at www.romelittlethreatre.com.
