Actors and dancers ages 8 to adult are invited to audition for Peter and the Wolf at the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center...
Actors and dancers ages 8 to adult are invited to audition for the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center’s upcoming production of Peter and the Wolf. Auditions for actors and actresses will be held at the Center on Monday, January 10 from 6:30pm to 9:30pm. Auditions for dancers will be held at the Center on Tuesday, January 11 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm.
Peter and the Wolf will be directed and choreographed by Karen Beyer, who also directed sold-out performances of Winnie the Pooh at the Center last October. Beyer’s other professional credits include choreographing the movie Sweet Home Alabama, Home for the Holidays at Stone Mountain Park and performing in radio and television commercials.
Peter and the Wolf will be produced by the Saturday on Stage, the Sawnee Cultural Arts Center’s own children’s theatre. The play is based on the classic tale by Sergei Prokofiev and will include music written by Pyotr Il'yich Tchaikovsky.
Auditions are conducted on a first come, first served basis. Actors will give a cold reading from a selected scene and dancers will learn a short routine. Peter and the Wolf is a challenging production and the rehearsal schedule will be rigorous.
Performances of Peter and the Wolf will be given at the Center in April. For more information on auditioning or purchasing advance tickets to the show, please call 770.889.4977.
The Sawnee Cultural Arts Center is an independent, not-for-profit organization. SCAC is supported through donations, charitable contributions, grants and rental fees.
