“Nothing in life is free”- except starting on January 30th when 1,500 lucky kids rush the gates at Universal’s Islands of Adventure theme park in Orlando. When the gates open and the red carpet rolls out, kids will find not only a free day at the park - but an unprecedented, dreamlike celebration created just for them.

It’s a feast for the eyes … especially when kids explore the “snow-topped” mountain made from 1,200 pounds of chocolate, traverse through tunnels mined of cookies and chocolate delights -- harvest from a tree – not apples – but hundreds of huge lollipops … and for one day, have the option to pick from over 500 pounds of assorted ice cream and toppings and fill-up at a bigger than life chocolate fountain. There is popcorn by the truckload and over 1,000 pounds of candy, in every assortment.

As hot air balloons float over a burst of colored confetti, a celebration of kids’ freedom unfurls down below. Nearly every character Universal Orlando can offer – including Shrek, SpongeBob, SquarePants, Curious George and the Marvel Super Heroes will surprise, dance and play with kids. In fact, for the first time ever, the kids will get to ride some of their favorite attractions with their favorite Super Heroes. They’ll speed along the neon-green rails of the Incredible Hulk Coaster seated next to Spider-Man and Captain America.

The special day marks the introduction of Universal’s new Kids Free ticket – which allows a kid up to nine years old the chance to get free admission to Universal Orlando when their parent buys an adult pass.
