If you're looking for something different to do with your kids this summer, why not try Michaels Summer Camps? There's lots in store for children ages three all the way up to preteen. Camp sessions begin the week of May 29th, and each camp session is themed adding extra fun to the week.
Your child may attend one, two, three, four or all five days per session and may attend all day or participate in just the morning or afternoon. How many summer camps are this flexible?
Each camp session features a different project, and every Wednesday, there is a mini Wilton project in addition to the themed craft. The camp fee is just $8 per session, and Michaels asks that you pre-pay at the time of sign-up.
Here are the themed summer camp sessions for 2006:
May 29 - June 2 -- Around the World Week (no camp Monday, May 29, due to Memorial Day)
June 5 - June 9 -- Beach Week #1
June 12 - June 16 -- Disney Week #1
June 19 - June 23 -- Magical Fantasy Week
June 26 - June 30 -- Red, White & Blue Week
July 3 - July 7 -- Beach Week #2 (no camp on July 4, due to holiday)
July 10 - July 14 -- Disney Week #2
July 17 - July 21 -- Wild, Wild West Week
July 24 - July 28 - Safari Week
July 31 - August 4 -- The Great Outdoors Week
On each day of camp, you may let your child stay an extra hour from 12:00-1:00 p.m. for "Lunch Bunch." The children are completely supervised throughout the hour while eating lunch, watching G-rated movies and playing games with their instructors. If you choose to participate in Lunch Bunch, please be sure to send in a packed lunch and drink for your child. The cost is just $2 extra per day.
Since your camper will be participating in craft projects, please make sure he/she is dressed appropriately. Paint, glue, markers, glitter, etc. will be used and may damage some clothing. Crafting aprons are used, but spills do happen!
To sign your child up for Michaels Summer Camps, please visit the store to register. Unfortunately, registration cannot be done via phone, but you may call on the day of any camp to see if "walk-in" space is available. Many camps sell out, so pre-registration is advised.
For more information, please see any Michaels associates or e-mail the store's event coordinator, Susan Moore, at michaelsincumming@yahoo.com.
