Kids at the Forsyth Racquet Club, under the guidance of their coach, Jere McAuley, donated toys for Christmas gifts to Forsyth County children this holiday season. Mr. McAuley delivered the gifts to “A Friend’s House”, the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center.

Pat Plant, Victim Support Manager for the center, was thrilled with the donation. “It’s so wonderful to see children helping other children and being taught how to think of others who might be less fortunate than themselves.”

The Child Advocacy Center has received calls to help children that are not signed up with other local programs such as the Angels Over Forsyth, and Forsyth County Fire Fighters efforts which take care of so many of the county’s’ children in need each holiday season. “A Friend’s House” receives referrals that are directed to the above mentioned groups or assists agencies such as Cross Roads Foundation and their Forgotten Teens Holiday Program. The toys donated by the Forsyth Racquet Club Kids were distributed by the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center prior to the Christmas holiday.

‘A Friend’s House’, the Forsyth County Child Advocacy Center is located on Bettis Tribble Gap Road. It is a non-profit facility established to work with children who have been victims of physical or sexual abuse. Additionally, the Center provides numerous services to the County, including a backpack program, therapy for children with attachment and bonding issues, and a visitation program for families who have had children removed from their homes and many other services.
