Washington Mutual’s new Free Checking product is helping consumers save money in a number of ways by offering bundled features that include free cash withdrawals at any ATM, free outbound wires and free ID Theft Services.
The company, a leading bank for consumers and small businesses, unveiled the new product in March. Shortly thereafter, WaMu followed up by offering paperless checking accounts online which are opened instantly after the company’s proprietary system processes and verifies a customer’s identity.
WaMu is the first bank to offer instant account openings online.
“We’re making it easier and more convenient for all consumers to do business with us by giving them what our research shows to be the top priorities when it comes to banking – easy access and a good product at a good price. And, free is definitely good,”
said Steve Delisle, a financial services veteran who manages WaMu’s Cumming retail banking store at 950 Buford Hwy.
A second Cumming location is at 1595 Peachtree Parkway.
“We’ve built our business by welcoming everyday customers to WaMu with our original Free Checking account, and then by winning them over with our other great products and customer service,” said Delisle who manages a team of 6 employees.
“People looking for simplicity, convenience and value in their banking relationship will find it here,” he said.
The bank is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A Washington Mutual Home Loan Center is nearby in Alpharetta at 4005 Old Milton Parkway.
