'Preserving the Community' Meeting Addresses Rezoning of Drug/Alcohol Residential Facility

Members of the Preserving the Community group invite all county residents to a meeting regarding community concerns related to the rezoning proposal of an Adolescent Drug/Alcohol Residential Facility proposed for 22-½ acres on Highway 20 in Forsyth County.

Community Leads Susan Regan and Jackie Koman will be hosting this community-wide meeting on Saturday, May 6th at 10:30 am at the Cumming Public Library on 585 Dahlonega Road.

The purpose of this meeting is to disseminate updated information relative to the proposed rezoning of the Caron Foundation Adolescent Drug/Alcohol Residential Treatment Center, which is proposed to be located on on Highway 20, between Smallwoods and Ace Hardware.

The related public hearing meeting is tentatively scheduled for July 25, 2006, with the subsequent Board of Commissioners meeting scheduled for August 17, 2006. All five Forsyth County Commissioners have received invitations to attend this community forum.
