Avenue of Flags

Happy Memorial Day; let's us not forget the significance of this holiday.

Support the United States of America, Veterans, servicemen currently serving to support our freedom and their families. The Forsyth Cumming Optimist Club has started a new program, "Avenue of Flags".

For a subscription fee of $35.00 a year, an Optimist member will install a 3x5 flag on a 10-foot pole in front of your home on five national holidays, including Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Labor Day and Veteran's Day.

All you have to do is tell us where you would like to have it installed. The optimist club; one of the oldest civic groups in the county; a 5013c non profit organization supports many activities for the children of Forsyth County.

The Optimist theme is "bring out the best in kids." The flag program helps raise funds for the many activities that the Optimist assists with in the county, the Oratorical contest with over 2600 entries this past year being our most impactful. Other programs include but not limited to are.

The annual track meet for the county schools system

Big Brothers big sisters

The annual Filing Tournament with the State of Georgia Trout Farm

Scholarships for county High school Senior program.

Student of the month recognition for county most outstanding young student.

Upcoming events are the Junior golf tournament; at the Hampton's and the ongoing "Avenue of Flags program".

Make a statement. This is a great for subdivisions and businesses.
