The spring edition of Berry's Senior Scholars program will get under way Tuesday, Feb. 13, with a diverse slate of courses for people 55 years of age and older.
Sponsored by the alumni relations office, the program is offered each Tuesday through April 10 (with the exception of March 13). Most courses are based in the Berry Alumni Center, located in the historic Ford Buildings.
Classes are held in hour-long blocks from 9:30-10:30 a.m., 11 a.m.-noon and 1-2 p.m. The opening period of the day features such offerings as "Fun with Oil Painting," "Beginning Watercolor Landscapes," "Greenhouse 102" and "Great American Short Stories." Session two includes "Intro to Computers," "Tai Chi" and "History – In Quest of Freedom." Session three consists of "Intermediate Computers" and "CPR, First Aid and Water Safety."
Evening events such as dinner and a play on the Berry campus and an overnight theatre excursion also will be offered. Registration is $30 for one class, $60 for two and $75 for the full program, with an additional fee for the evening events and some course materials.
