The second annual Atlanta Fine Wine Festival runs today, Saturday, 2-6 p.m., at Mason Murer Fine Art, and will feature hundreds of bottles of rare and vintage wines, along with tantalizing gourmet food samplings from 14 premier Atlanta restaurants, including Cumming's own Tam's Backstage.
The Frosted Pumpkin Gourmet -- another Forsyth County business -- will be doling out samples of their to-die-for specialty cakes as well, and a silent auction will feature a bevy of great items, including Juice Plus products, courtesy of Forsyth County distributor, Laurie Gowan, and a week's stay in Santa Rosa beach, courtesty of Cumming resident, Lynne Andrews.
Acclaimed artist, Thomas Arvid, will be on-hand painting and showing his beautiful works of art, and media sponsor, Atlanta Magazine, will have supplies of their latest issue available to Festival guests.
The event once again benefits Hospice Atlanta/Visiting Nurse, for which more than $20,000 was raised at the 2005 event. Organizers are hoping to double that amount this year. Tickets are $120 at the door, and more information can be found at www.atlantafinewinefestival.com.
