A new monthly lifestyle magazine debuts next week for the high-end demographic readership of north metro Atlanta. Atlanta Life Magazine is a Roswell-based, freely distributed publication that concentrates most heavily through 26 zip codes north of the perimeter between I-75 and I-85 and extending into Buckhead.
Editorial content is tailored to affluent, well-educated readers in their mid-30s to late 50s. Initially, 55,000 copies of the magazine will be freely distributed with 22,000 copies mailed directly to confirmed addresses of homes valued over $500,000.
Three years in the making, the publication is the brainchild of Dr. Thomas Boc, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who was editor in chief of his college newspaper and has always had a yen for the written word. He has edited several books in both the medical and dental fields.
Boc says, “We strongly feel that this market has been largely underserved by other publications in the metro Atlanta area. Many of these pubs have little to do with the concerns and everyday lifestyles of the families that live in the north part of the city. We intend to change that and to create a magazine that will set a new standard for authoritative editorial content coupled with outstanding graphic presentations. Eye-catching layouts and writing objectivity will become the cornerstones of Atlanta Life Magazine.”
Boc continues, “We have done extensive research regarding interests, income, home values and spending habits of readers in the north sector of the city. From our studies, we are convinced that Atlanta’s northern suburbs have the highest potential to be the most productive market for our advertisers.”
Each issue will examine important issues in health care, money management, politics and real estate. Other monthly departments include fashion, sports, home furnishings, book and CD reviews, travel, home improvement, dining, mountain life, events and entertainment.
Atlanta Life’s articles are either staff written or contributed by some of the region’s most respected freelancers. Senior writer, Alan Sverdlik, is a former features reporter with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and New York Post, and a former contributing writer for Atlanta Magazine.
Monica White and White House Advertising Agency bring exemplary art and graphic creativity to the magazine’s layout and ad design. Previously, White was creative director for Vanity Fair, and also worked for Ted Turner at CNN.
