Last Show During Berry's Brass Ensemble Fall Tour

The Berry Brass Ensemble directed by Dr. Stan Pethel, chair of the fine arts department, will perform their final concert Nov. 19 at Lindale First Baptist Church in Lindale, Ga. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Call 706-236-2289 for more information.


The Brass Ensemble consists of student performers at Berry and features five trumpets, five horns, five trombones, two tubas and one euphonium. The program will offer sacred brass music including a Renaissance motet transcription, "Fanfare and Chorus," by Dietrich Buxtehude and Bryn Calfaria (arranged by Bill Holcombe). Also featured in the program are arrangements by Dr. Pethel including "How Firm a Foundation," "Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah," "Near the Cross" and the hymn medleys "Fantasia of Praise" and "Glory Bound." The Berry Bones will perform arrangements of "The Old Rugged Cross," "He Touched Me" and Power in the Blood."
