DAWSONVILLE, Georgia - Athletes come in all shapes and sizes, but when four-legged, furry competitors at the yearly U.S. Open Stock Dog Championships take to the field, spectators from around the southeast and the world are dead silent as the dogs round up cattle and sheep as part of the competition.

Held at the picturesque Bailey Farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains an hour north of Atlanta in Dawsonville, the trials will host more than 100 handlers and dogs from throughout the United States, Canada and Great Britain. Handlers come in all ages, genders and backgrounds, with the youngest to date being 12 years old. AIHDA experts will provide demonstrations during the three-day event on training and care questions. Bring the whole family and escape for a day or the weekend! The Bailey Farm is a picturesque scene nestled in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains.
