Forsyth County is pleased to announce that Shady Grove Campground will open for use on Monday, June 19. The Forsyth County government recently assumed operations of the park, following its closure by the United States Army Corps of Engineers due to budgetary restraints.

“We are certainly pleased to be able to open this park and make it available to our citizens,” said Director of Parks and Recreation, Jerry Kinsey. “Last year alone the campground had 14,653 visitations, so it is clearly an important facility to our community.”

The park is slated to open on June 19 and remain open through October 8. There are over 110 campsites at the park, which is located at 7800 Shadburn Ferry Road in Cumming. The campground features a beach and swim area, boat ramp with courtesy dock, group campsites with picnic shelters, tent camping areas and campsites with water and 30 amp power hookups.

Daily fees for use of the campground are as follows:

  • 30 amp electric site with water - $24.00
  • Tent camping site with no hookups - $16.00
  • Group camping site north - $150.00
  • Group camping site south - $130.00
  • Visitor fee - $2.00
  • Dump station - $10.00
