Kim Cooper Has Built Her Dreams On Tupperware’s Party Philosophy

Published Jul 25, 2007

Tupperware, a household name in food preparation, storage and serving products for over half a century, has no greater spokesperson than Kim Cooper. For 28 years, the Cumming resident has been a consultant for the company, recognized worldwide for its signature product  – an airtight, plastic storage container with a unique “burping seal” – and, of course, Tupperware parties.

Ms. Cooper is one of the estimated 1.9 million consultants who comprise Tupperware’s independent sales force. Through her seniority, experience and knowledge, she has risen to the rank of legacy executive director. Ms. Cooper promotes Tupperware’s full product line, including environmentally friendly microwavable products, through home or office demonstrations. Her territory covers the metro Atlanta area and north Georgia.

“Tupperware is a company that enhances lives, through the people, the product, the plan and our programs,” says Ms. Cooper. “Tupperware people are the nicest anywhere, and Tupperware friendships last a lifetime –  just like the product’s guarantee.”

Developed in 1945 by Earl Silas Tupper, Tupperware became a phenomenon in the early 1950s with the introduction of Tupperware parties, an innovative marketing strategy wherein Tupperware hosts invite friends and neighbors to try and buy the company’s wares – and have fun. “Customers can see, touch, taste, and experience the product before making the investment,” Ms. Cooper notes.
“Today, with so many party plans available, such as traditional, express and the new Take 5 event, hosts can benefit in even greater ways than ever before,” she adds.

Tupperware offers several inexpensive kits designed to give potential consultants a chance to see if the company’s system is right for them. “I’m especially enthusiastic about Tupperware’s 30 day ‘job test’ program,” says Ms. Cooper, who also recruits consultants to the Tupperware family. “It allows you to see what you think of our plan, the discounts, the whole system, for just 30 days of your time.”
