Come celebrate a “Hometown Christmas” with the 2006 Rome Christmas parade Tuesday, November 28, 2006. With over 100 entries each year, Rome’s Christmas parade has delighted citizens of Rome and surrounding counties for over 60 years. The parade is a non-commercial, non-profit event organized by a volunteer committee of caring citizens. Each year an “unsung hero” is honored in the community who has given unselfishly of themselves above and beyond expectations with little recognition in return, as Grand Marshall for the parade. The Grand Marshall leads the parade and is honored at the annual Grand Marshall Christmas breakfast held at the Coosa Country Club and sponsored by Heritage First Bank of Rome.
