The Berry College Theatre Company will present "Homebody/Kabul," a play by Pulitzer-prize winner Tony Kushner, Nov. 15-20 at the E.H. Young Theatre in Blackstone Hall. Performance times are 8 p.m. weekdays and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $4 opening night and $6 for all other performances. For more information call the box office at 706-236-2263.
Directed by Berry faculty member John Countryman, "Homebody/Kabul" chronicles the search for a missing British housewife who, in the aftermath of an American air strike on Afghanistan in 1998, abandons her home in search of the exotic and ancient land she has read about in books. Kushner lifts the veil on global politics and the reality of modern Afghanistan as he follows her husband and daughter while they brave political ambitions, international terrorism, drug trade, the war on oil and a suspenseful collision of cultures in their search for the missing woman.
